The Establishment Project

The BSW Climate Alliance was established to support local governments and other agencies respond to climate change.

The Alliance partnership a way to formalise partnership on climate change across the region. It creates an organised way to coordinate joint projects that reduce emissions, costs, and increase resilience for the region in line with the action being taken by the rest of the state.

The project to establish a climate alliance for the BSW region was funded by DELWP and led by Warrnambool City Council. A Group of Sustainability professionals from organisations across Barwon South West came together to establish the Barwon South West Climate Alliance in 2021. Overall, it was collaborative effort that established this dedicated partnership.

WATER

The Victorian State Government has created a clear mandate for water authorities to consider climate change in planning, management and service delivery. The Integrated Water Management network has created precedence for the power and importance of working collaboratively across a region to manage and plan for the sustainability of water services and supply now and in the future.
